Jeff Oberstein joined Capital One in 2017 and leads Corporate Strategy. In this role, he is responsible for driving the long-term vision and strategic growth of a founder-led, Fortune 200 company on a mission to change banking for good.
Jeff’s team is charged with thinking broadly about where the world is going, identifying strategic opportunities and developing corporate imperatives that range from market and consumer insights, to data and technology transformation.
Before joining Capital One, Jeff spent more than 25 years in a series of advisory and operating roles across the financial services industry with a focus on using data and insights to make better decisions, fostering customer loyalty, driving innovation and transforming businesses. Jeff was a Partner at Bain & Company and a Consultant at Oliver Wyman where he served a variety of financial institutions and technology companies on issues related to profitable growth, customer management and performance improvement. Jeff’s operating roles include serving as Chief Customer Officer for AIG’s Consumer Insurance unit and Chief Operating Officer for Citicards.
Jeff received his MBA from The Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania and his undergraduate degree from Princeton University. Jeff and his wife, Sophie, live in the Logan Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C. He is passionate about all things outdoors, perusing art museums and spending time with his two children.
