Project Support Intern
Kera White is the Project Support Intern at New Futures. She has been passionate about community engagement for as long as she can remember. She attended George Mason University originally with the hopes of helping increase minority representation in both the talent and the messages being produced within the television industry. However, during the world-wide pandemic, Kera decided she wants a direct hands-on approach to the changes she has been speaking on through her art. She created the Sisters N’ Christ, Inc. nonprofit organization in October 2020 to provide young adult Black and brown women with a safe space for community and expression. Through this project, she became interested in the nonprofit sector and developing a career that produces change within her community.
Kera currently works at Fairfax Public Access as the Senior Technical Advisor. The highlight of her day is working with members and volunteers to create powerful and uplifting television shows surrounding the Fairfax community. Outside of work, she enjoys dabbling in photography, entertaining her cat and dog shenanigans, and experiencing new travel adventures with her husband.
