Mary Zmuda is the Regional Director of Physician and Staff Wellness for the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, the Medical Group of Kaiser Permanente of Mid-Atlantic States. In this role, she directs the strategic priorities for enhancing professional well-being and corporate culture for physicians and healthcare staff members across the Washington, D.C. region. Mary has cultivated a comprehensive strategy for corporate professional development and wellness that is inclusive of structured trainings and programs targeting high-priority focus areas including culture enhancement, burnout prevention, emotional support, practice support, mentorship, leadership development, engagement, collegiality, and fostering joy and meaning in work.
Mary has spent the last fifteen years of her career in healthcare, working with physicians, nurses, and staff members in various healthcare settings including hospital, primary care, and corporate environments. Mary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and a Master of Public Health degree in Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior with a specialty graduate degree in Health Communication from the University of South Carolina. Mary is a DMV native and in her free time enjoys outdoor activities such as running, snowboarding and hiking, traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Mary serves on the Development Committee and the Governance Committee for New Futures.
